1958 Chevrolet Impala in Sandwich, Massachusetts ID-117883
THIS 1958 CHEVROLET IMPALA WAS BOUGHT FROM THE THIRD OWNER WHO HAD OWNED IT FOR 45 + YEARS. IT WAS AN EXCELLENT RUNNING CAR WITH A REBUILT 283 WITH AN EDELBROCK FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, A REBUILT 700R AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND FRONT DISC BRAKES. THE CAR WAS FIRST TITLED IN 2001 (MASSACHUSETTS LAW) WITH ODOMETER SHOWING 129,205 MILES. IT NOW SHOWS 133,800 MILES, SO THE CAR HAS ONLY DEIVEN 4595 MILES SINCE 2001. THE CAR IS SOLID AS A ROCK, NO RUST EVER. IT WAS TOTALLY STRIPPED AND PAINTED IN THE 70’S WITH BLACK LAQUER PAINT, SHOWING ITS AGE BUT STILL VERY PRESENTABLE, THE INTERIOR WAS TOTALLY DONE AT THAT TIME AND IT STILL IS IN GREAT SHAPE.
AS I HAD DONE PREVIOUSLY WITH all of my cars bought, MY LAST CAR (1962 OLDSMOBILE STARFIRE) I STARTED ON THE LONG, HARD AND COMPLICATED JOB OF REPARING, REPLACING AND UPGRADING EVERYTHING TO A (“RESTO ROD”). SUITABLE FOR A POWER TOUR RUN.
I removed the 283 Engine

REPLACED ALL OF THE HOSES AND BELTS FOR THE ENGINE.
I FLUSHED THE RADIATOR, AND REPLACED THERMOSTAT.
I INSTALLED A 110 AMP GENERATOR.
I REPLACED THE STOCK STARTER
INSTALLED AN AFTERMARKET VINTAGE AIR – COMPRESSOR
To be used when or if a Vintage a/c is installed.
PURCHASED AN AFTERMARKET AM/FM RADIO FROM CUSTOM AUTO SOUND. (AM/FM, with BLUETOOTH) - NOT INSTALLED YET.
I MADE A CUSTOM GUAGE PANEL WITH AC DUCTS, AND TAC.
I REPLACED THE DASH GAS GUAGE AND ALL LIGHT BULBS
I RE-WIRED THE HORNS.
I REWIRED THE STEERING COLUMN WIRING.
I REPLACED THE STARTER SWITCH.
INSTALLED 2 NEW MUFFLERS.
NEW EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS
NEW LARGER FRONT SWAY BAR
NEW BORGSTRON QUICK RATIO STEERING BOX
NEW POWER STEERING PUMP
CUSTOM UNDER DASH GAUGE PANEL
“One of a kind” – tac, oil, water and ac vents.
INSTALLED A CUSTOM REAR SWAY BAR.
UPGRADED FRONT SWAY BAR
ADDED REAR AIR (INSIDE SPRING) BAGS.
***AS OF 6/16-REPLACED CRAGER SS MAGS WITH 15 in CRAGER
"SMOOTHIE" CHROME REVERSE WHEELS AND 4 NEW P225/70r15 TIRES
INSTALLED NEW FRONT SHOCKS
INSTALLED A COMPLETELY REBUILT ORIG STEERING COLUMN.
INSTALLED A NEW “XS” AGM BATTERY.
