Frey built a sporty car with power, comfort and luxury options and it was a runaway hit from day one. This 64 ½ Mustang was manufactured May, 1964, and was marketed as an early 1965 model. The VIN # and Door Tag codes show it to be the real deal. San Jose California , kept out of the elements, original paint springtime yellow with 1 repaint Wimbledon white .The current California Owner has a clean and clear title. The Ford paint still looks great and is a classic color for an early Mustang. The coupe body design with long nose, short deck styling influenced future muscle cars from every maker. The distinctive styling was an instant crowd-pleaser and it still turns heads today. It is timeless and cues can be seen in every Mustang model since the day this one rolled out of the factory. chrome trim and chrome bumpers are in very good condition. This first generation “Pony Car” has a 2.8 Liter 170 cubic inch straight 6 cylinder Thriftpower engine mated to a C4 3-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Tipping the scales at 2,570 lbs, it is much lighter than its V8 equipped brother at around 3,000 lbs giving you better fuel economy and sportier handling with better weight distribution.
