1965 Ford Mustang Convertible / Frame-Off Restoration & Rebuilt Factory 289Any car enthusiast knows that the Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic cars in American history. More than ten million have been sold since they first appeared in Ford dealerships in 1964. Over 22,000 were sold during the first weekend of its release in 1964. Just under 560,000 were produced for the 1965 model year with 65,000 being convertibles. So, we can all agree that their is no shortage of Mustangs in the world and that This car.... is one of them....This Mustang Convertible has been treated to a frame-off restoration and complete engine rebuild in 2016-2017. Photos off the car before the restoration are at the bottom of the nearly 100HD photos shown. The breakdown included new floors and trunk. We believe body panels are original as we do see signs of original markings on each. The body is pin straight and with all new chrome and trim, it looks absolutely beautiful. The repaint is extremely nice and has a brilliant shine. There is no bubbling, no pitting, no orange peel and NO rust. While the paint is definitely a highlight of this Mustang, it is not the cars original color. The interior is also in excellent condition with all new bolstered bucket seats, all new chrome and trim, new carpets and a brand new power cloth top and new boot. The cloth is beautiful and far better than the canvas tops you see on most cars at this level. The top goes up & down perfectly and if weren't staring at it, you wouldn't know it was moving. The boot fits perfectly and goes on easily. All features and gauges work perfectly. The AM-FM stereo is a new aftermarket unit but it does have the AM face plate that makes it appear to be original.The engine is its original 289ci engine which has recently been rebuilt. Mileage reads 72056 which we believe is actual. A new Edelbrock model 1403, four-barrel 500cfm carburetor with electronic choke replaces the original 2 barrel. Other upgrades include a dual master brake cylinder with front disc brakes, HD LED headlights and, front & rear seat belts were added for safety beyond factory specs. The car starts immediately and runs perfectly. Power steering makes handling easy, A true pleasure to drive.She runs on new Custom US Mags all around with BFGoodrich Radials; 225/60R15 up front and 245/60R15 in the rear.
