Making this Mustang a driver friendly frisky horse that likes to run and still looks good rolling up to a cruise in. This Mustang is a solid example of the American icon that started the pony car phenomenon. This car has lived locally in Maryville Tennessee since 1972 and has been garage kept all its life. It was also serviced all its life at regular service intervals to ensure it was a solid driver's car. The previous owners used the Mustang as a parade and weekend car, being sure to never take it out in the rain or snow. Thanks to the pampered living conditions this Mustang experienced, the factory sheet metal is all intact and the only rust anywhere on the car is a small patch of surface rust on the driver side front floor pan (bottom of car). All problematic spots are solid (for 1964-73 Mustangs the cowl, floors and inner quarter panels all seem to go first) and the car does not have any rust bubbles in the paint. The car was originally a dark purple, which the second owners did not enjoy, so they took the car to their local Ford dealer and had the car sprayed in candy apple red in 1972. The paint job looks as if it were done yesterday with no peeling or fading, there is some minor chipping on the driver side end cap (end of the quarter panel) where the second owner said a bicycle fell against the car. Candy apple red touch up paint was applied to the spot to keep sunlight from reflecting the small blemish.
