1965 Pontiac Catalina 2+2 Convertible For Sale Flawless Frame-Off Restoration! 421ci TriPower / 356hp / 4-speed / Safe-T-Trac Posi, Dual Exhaust and much more... The well known award winning magazine, Auto Restorer featured this car in its April 2016 issue written in part by the 2nd of 3 owners, Mr. Jack Meketa. Mr Meketa was the owner of Golden Idol Customs & Restorations, who took on this project for himself. The article describes Mr Meketas detailed adventure restoring this amazing classic which started in 2010 and ended at perfection in 2015.Purchased new at Mal Pierce Pontiac in Bethpage NY by Ms Jane Cataldo of Wantagh NY on May 17th, 1965. The car remained on Long Island NY until purchased and restored by Mr Jack Meketa named above.Paperwork includes the PHS documentation, original owners manual, original convertible top care manual, the all important warranty booklet with Protect-o- Plate and a badly torn Build Sheet. A small but impressive 3x5 binder of restoration photos and the Auto Restorer Magazine and article are also included.Today, this 2+2 remains flawless! The entire body is pin straight with a perfect repaint surrounding it. Its Mayfair Maize (code Y) color is original to the car as is the beautiful black interior. Chrome and all trim pieces are original or NOS new. They too are perfect! The power convertible top is high end and as good as new as is the rear glass on the top. In the interior, every piece has been refinished to perfection. The '65 2+2 has one of the nicest dash boards every created and it shows on this car. Every available option is included in this work of art. Primary options include climate control air conditioning which blows ice cold, AM-FM stereo with power antenna and reverb switch, power windows, power vent windows, power bucket seats, speed alert, tachometer with rev limiter, deck lid release, sports steering wheel, vanity mirror on the passengers side, full lighting package as well as all the basics you would expect such as power steering, power brakes and a power top. Each and every option and feature works better than the factory intended including all lighting inside and out, speedometer, tach, radio etc.... The 421ci is the factory original however the tri-power setup was added. It was originally a 4barrel. The car starts, runs and drives perfectly in every respect.
