1966 Ford Mustang Fastback GT K-Code – Rotisserie Restored, Numbers Matching This 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback GT is an exceedingly rare example, factory-equipped with the legendary K-Code 289 “Hi-Po” V8 and paired with an automatic transmission. Known as the engine that powered the first Shelby GT350, the K-Code delivered 271 horsepower and remains one of the most desirable small-blocks in Mustang history. Out of 607,568 Mustangs built in 1966, only 5,469 received the K-Code engine. Roughly half were delivered to Shelby for GT350 production. Of those that reached the public, only a fraction were fastbacks, even fewer with the GT package, and fewer still with an automatic transmission. This combination makes the car offered here exceptionally rare and investment-grade, representing one of the most collectible configurations of the Mustang’s first generation. Restoration & Documentation Underwent a complete rotisserie restoration to concours standards Every component refinished or replaced, down to the smallest detail Fit, finish, and mechanicals restored to as-new condition Original numbers-matching K-Code drivetrain verified and fully rebuilt Blueprinted, balanced, and rebuilt to factory K-Code specifications Extensive receipts documenting the work Accompanied by an extraordinary paper trail, including: Original Ford-to-dealer invoice (1966) Registration receipts Original paperwork Service records spanning decades Documentation from 1968 through present under long-term 2nd ownership Purchased from the family by Drive The Coast, holding clear title today Drivetrain & Performance 289 K-Code “Hi-Po” V8 – 271 horsepower, factory spec rebuild Automatic transmission – exceptionally rare for a K-Code fastback GT Retains full original drivetrain with documentation Important Information – Please Read Before Inquiring Vehicle Location: This vehicle is located at our client's home, not in Cadillac, Michigan.
