1966 MG MGB Convertible sat for 22 years in airconditioned garage - reason for parking: transmission dropped 2nd gear. Work completed to enjoy driving (comes with documented history): Rebuilt transmission - installed New clutch assembly Cleaned up engine bay. Did some touch up painting, but trying to keep the '66 patina Gear reduction starter - the original starter gave up Spin on oil filter conversion (makes changing the oil easier) Major tune up - plugs, wires, points, condenser, rotor, low tension lead and new cap Checked the valve adjustment Oil and filter change Greased the front suspension Checked diff fluid New oil seals, paper gaskets and '0' ring gaskets in the rear axle assembly Installed new rear wheel cylinders and flex hose Rebuilt brake master New clutch master (Original type with metal bowl) Rebuilt slave cylinder and installed new hoses New front brake calipers, pads, hoses and hardware all new Dot 4 brake fluid Installed one new 6 volt and one used 6 volt battery. Installed 4 new 175/70x14 tires and tubes - having the wire wheels checked for true The MG has a stainless steel exhaust system Has a new wiring harness, everything works except turn signals and may be the flasher New top and new tonneau cover Here is things that should be done: -Front suspension needs new bushings. The kingpins are ok -The rear end makes a little clunking, but I do not think it is anything serious but have not driven it enough to verify. After swapping the tires, will drive a little more. -The tach is not quite correct, maybe 300 rpm off. May be able to adjust loop in back of tach to correct.
