1967 Pontiac GTO Sport Coupe For SaleMatching Numbers (YZ code) 400 H.O. 360hp According to the facts and statistics provided by the GTO Association of America and the Pontiac Historical Society, you are looking at one very special and rare GTO. The facts are as follows:There were 81,722 GTOs produced in 1967. Of those, 7,029 were Sport Coupes, less than both the Hardtop (65,176) and even the convertible (9,517). The Sport Coupe with a Turbo-Hydra-Matic 400 automatic transmission as in this one was again, the lower production car with only 2,915 produced. 3,830 manual transmission Sport Coupes were produced and nearly 33,000 Hardtops. Other that the GTO Ram Air, the H.O. 360hp engine in this car was limited to only 13,827 compared to 64,177 base 400s with 335hp. The H.O. engine put out the same horsepower as the Ram Air engine, 360hp. One last thing to think about. This very rare 400ci H.O. 360hp engine (YZ code) with an automatic transmission is one of only 3,411 produced compared to 8,555 H.O. engines with a four speed transmission and over 62,000 produced with the basic 400ci 335hp engine. If you add in the fact that this car has factory air conditioning, you have one very rare car here. One more thing! This GTO has just 44,650 actual miles!! With all this good news, there must be some bad, right? If you can consider a power bench seat and a column shift bad news, then that is it!The engine on this car is in tip-top shape with no modifications and no rebuild. The engine is super strong and runs like new and with just 44,650 miles, it practically is.Factory options include Rally Wheels, Air Conditioning, Rally Gauge Cluster & Tachometer, Ride & Handling Package, power steering, power brakes and all the basic GTO standard features as indicated on the PHS documentation.This GTO came from the factory with Montreux Blue paint which was refinished nearly 15 years ago. It still looks great today but there are some signs of road wear. With that said, there are no signs that this car has ever been hit, damaged or dented in any way. The factory black vinyl top looks brand new. There are no signs of rust ever and all body panels are original and retain all original markings as shown in the photos. All glass is original as well! All chrome and trim pieces are in excellent condition and the undercarriage is immaculate.The interior is as good as new and we believe is all original although we can not be certain. The dash pad is new. We know this because we have the receipt from back in 2004. The factory bench seating is also as good as new front and back. The original radio is gone but a new JVC radio with 4 speakers, CD player, Iphone hookup and power antenna has replaced it. An older 8-track player is mounted under the dash and works as it should. The AC blows cold. The compressor is not the original but it does work perfectly. All gauges and other features work including the speedometer, odometer, tachometer, all lighting in & out, 3 speed wipers and washer, signals, heater and horn. Aftermarket under dash gauges work as well.This very special and original engine choice, the 400ci H.O. option offers 360hp, 25hp more than the standard 400 engine with 335hp. The H.O. matches the horsepower rating of the Ram Air engine. The car starts, runs and drives beautifully and needs nothing The THD400 automatic transmission shifts smoothly. Braking is easy. Dual exhaust was standard on the GTO. The standard gear ratio for the H.O. engine option and factory air conditioning is 3:23. The carburetor, while it is in excellent working condition, is not the original Rochester QuadraJet. It has a Holley replacement for now! As previously mentioned, the AC compressor is not the original but it does blow COLD!There is a trunk full of spare parts as shown! Some include original kick panels to replace the current panels with the speaker grills that are installed now! Also included are a full set of seat belts, wires, bulbs and more. Full PHS documentation and window sticker copy is also included in the sale.This is a collector's class GTO that was built to different standards and specifications then most other GTOs making it special and in a class of its own.
