1968 Oldsmobile 442 – True 344 Car This 1968 Oldsmobile 442 is a true 344-coded car and is offered with a current clean title. Finished in its factory Sapphire Blue, the car received an older repaint in 1992 and was originally equipped with a black vinyl top. Powertrain components include the correct G-code 400ci V8 with C-code heads, paired with a rebuilt Turbo 400 automatic transmission featuring a shift kit and converter. The engine and transmission both turn freely. Recent upgrades include new exhaust manifolds, 2.5-inch stainless Pypes front exhaust sections, a new Speedway wiring harness, and a new fuel tank. Out back is a 12-bolt rear end with ladder bars, giving the car an unmistakable old-school street race look. The body is described as solid and uncut, with no accident damage. Rust is limited to very minor areas at the lower fenders and rear package shelf. The car presents as an excellent foundation for a high-quality restoration or performance build.
