The 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner was voted Motor Trend magazine’s Car of the Year in only its second year of production. It was an instant success due to its light weight and the largest engine available. The Roadrunner quickly gained notoriety as a street and drag strip brawler. Many drag racers preferred the pillared post coupe because of the extra rigidity such as this one. This is a very special Roadrunner in the sense that this is a show quality car that has been written about in magazines, won many trophies in car shows, World of Wheels included. Another unusual characteristic you don’t see in most Roadrunners is the 540 CI Hemi engine producing 650 HP, 640 ft. lb. of torque and accompanied with a Tremec 5-speed transmission. Thanks to expert craftsmanship, fit, finish, and body gaps exceeds the Chrysler workmanship when the Roadrunner was new. The correct black vinyl top is new and shows no signs of problems underneath. The suspension is correct and new with six leaf rear springs and one inch front and rear sway bars. Interior and dash look new.
