1975 Chevrolet Stingray T-Top. It is a 3 speed automatic. There are lots of upgrades to this car that I will outline further on, but the car itself in terms of “VIN” classification is the 165 HP version that was created for California and new Catalytic Converter requirements that had gone into place. The power plant is what would be referred to as a L48 with is the Base 350 V8. I chose the 75 because it is the last year of the “flat” back window which makes them look so cool as well as that is the final year to be exempt from Emissions in Colorado – an important fact if you want to add some Ponies. The car was virtually stock aside from an oversized dual fan radiator that was added. Since I have owned the vehicle it has been upgraded to really increase Horse Power in 2019/2020 as follows: • New Heads • Hydraulic Camshaft • Lifters/ Rockers • Headers • Dual custom Exhaust • Gearing changed to 3.55 • New wheel bearings, swing arms, bushings, ujoints, and then any part on the underside that needed to be replaced while everything was getting gutted. I couldn’t tell you where it is for horse power now but it isn’t slow by any means. From an aesthetic aspect the car has been repainted prior to my ownership. The cherry red paint is what I would rate a B-. My reasoning for that rating is because it looks great while driving around and visually but upon closer inspection there are some small bubbles here or there, scratches, chips, etc. The chrome looks good and wheels/ tires are in good shape. All new seals were replaced for doors, windows, and T-Tops in 2020. New Tail lights in 2020. New kickplates in 2020. The interior is also a B- given the year of the car. No holes in the carpet but one of my next projects was a carpet kit. Probably could use an upgrade to door panels at some point. The car drives extremely well. Being a 3 speed it isn’t lightning quick off the line but you could fix that easily with a torque converter upgrade.
