1976 International Scout II – Chevy-Powered 4x4 Trail Beast with Character This 1976 Scout II is a solid, well-loved project with tons of work already done — including a full GM drivetrain swap and plenty of tasteful upgrades. My dad and I completed the swap together, and it’s been a blast ever since. It runs and drives great, including solid 4WD performance. Powertrain & Drivetrain: Chevy 350 V8 SM465 4-Speed Manual Transmission NP205 Transfer Case Dana 44 Front Axle Chevy 12-Bolt Rear Axle New custom exhaust installed in 2016 – sounds great 4” Spring-Over-Axle Lift 33” Tires Body & Interior: Grill swapped to a 1973 model Exterior & top painted by me Interior stripped & professionally bed-lined Hardtop has updated sliding windows (replaced in 2016) Factory front and rear seats Rear in good shape Front seats show wear Custom-built top on factory center console (original lid included) Cubby built into cargo area wall (from previous owner’s cut) 12” subwoofer in cargo area, amp mounted to passenger kick panel Additional Parts & Features: Factory A/C components included but not installed Rockers are solid Frame is in great shape (just surface rust) Known Issues / Needs: Rear shocks Headlight bezels New weatherstripping Wiring harness refresh recommended (Original harness still in place but not currently connected under dash) Rust Spots (Minor): Passenger rear quarter and corner Hood (small spots only) ??
