1978 Porsche 911SC sunroof coupe finished in its rare and original Bitter Chocolate exterior and Cork interior. The chassis is rolling on 137k+ miles and as is very common on these cars the odometer has recently quit. But not to worry, as the mechanicals show to have been thoroughly gone through with a rebuild reported within the last 5 years and 10.000 miles. In addition to installing Turbo brakes, short throw shift kit, larger Fuchs style wheels, fresh Hankook rubber and a new steering rack, the motor was warmed over with a 964 cam grind, Dansk exhaust and K and N intake filter. Updated Carrera chain tensioners, airbox pop off valve and head studs were also installed. Very quick and strong running 3.0. It doesn't leak or smoke. The lowered stance delivers a firm ride. The car tracks straight down the road and the big Turbo brakes haul it down with authority. Handling is what you would expect from an air cooled Porsche, pretty much spot on. Dansk exhaust has a raucous idle and a mechanical growl only an air cooled flat six can produce.The original cork interior was reupholstered and shows very well. The door panels and pockets are in great condition. The headliner is taught, original carpet in great shape. A nice set of quality coco mats add a touch of period correct class. An aftermarket Momo style steering wheel is installed. Original dash is capped looks good and is hardly a detraction. The car also benefits from a more modern 964 AC system upgrade. Heat and defrost work as do all of the instruments, instrument lights and courtesy lights. Windows and sunroof operate as they should. Door pulls and locks in perfect working order.
