1983 BMW 320I in Houston, Texas ID-144508
- I am 45 years old and have been an automotive enthusiast for most of my life, having owned classics ranging from restoration projects to driver quality to near concours. I will give the potential buyer an accurate assessment of this vehicle.
- 3 inch thick stack of receipts, invoices, documentation since the 1980's
- Based on records, it appears that the original owner had the vehicle until 1993. Second owner treated the vehicle as a family heirloom and sold it to the third owner in 2017. It was a garage queen for the third owner and was sparingly driven and maintained. I am the 4th owner based on my understanding of the records I have on hand. It sits in my garage as a garage queen.
- Vehicle was taken off the road and restoration started in 2010 with approximately 140,000 miles on the odometer.
- Restoration entails exterior, interior and mechanical.
- Less than 1,500 miles have been added between 2010 till now (2025)
- Over $25,000 of restoration/service/repair receipts within the past 1,500 miles. Mostly from 2010-2013. It's equivalent to approximately $40,000+ of restoration work in today's inflation adjusted prices.
- This vehicle is a very presentable driver quality car ( I regularly attend car shows, have associated with judges and attend Concours d Elegence on occasions). It's not a nut/bolt restoration done by a marque specialist which runs over 6 figures these days. I have been misled many times in the past by descriptions that did not match the actual condition of the vehicle ( through trained eyes) and I don't want to disappoint potential buyers of this one. This is a nice driver, and everything is done well, its not a 6 figure nut/bolt restoration, and it's not a 90-100 point car.
- This is an analog car and you really feel the mechanical workings of it. It's not fast by today's standard but the joy of driving this vehicle is not speed.
- Vehicle drives well and the air conditioning can keep up with the Texas heat (this is a 80's European car. Please have realistic expectations).
- I have taken the vehicle on 1hr+ drives in 90 degree heat with the AC on and it performed as it should.
- This is my personal car and I have the title in my name.
- $16,500. Would consider payment in cash, check, gold, silver, platinum.
