1963 Ford Thunderbird Roadster Convertible, 390 Big Block V8 Engine with 4 Barrel Carburetor, Automatic Transmission, Bucket Seats with storage center console, another 3-year run after the “Squarebird’s” three-year was the completely restyled “Bullet Bird” from 1961 to 1963. Featuring an even bigger engine with Dearborn’s FE V8 enlarged to 390 cubic inches in ’61. A Thunderbird convertible paced the Indianapolis 500 in 1961 and two new models debuted the following year.
With walnut interior highlights and an amazing ribbed stainless steel dash panel that merged with matching stainless trim on the door panels. The famous Sports Roadster, with the 2-seater cockpit style interior was appeased by covering the backseat with a streamlined tonneau cover. She sits on Dazzling Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.
ONLY 455 ROADSTERS were made in 1963. Standard Equipment, AM Radio, Heater/Defroster, Power Brakes. Power Steering. Power windows and remote manual adjustable driver's side mirror. Little known fact this engine produced more HP that the larger famous 409. 3-speed Cruise-O Matic MX automatic transmission.
M code Corinthian White Basecoat clearcoat paint in good quality. Lines and gaps look good, not show car. Short fins. Big chrome wraparound rocket style rear tail lights beautifully molded in the bumper.
Nice front and rear bumpers. Mock chrome hood scoop to allow for the larger 390 BB and taller 4-barrel carburetor air cleaner. Interior new black vinyl door panels. New arm rests. Factory correct steering wheel with prominent T BIRD horn cap.
