1964 Datsun Fairlady 1500 was extensively refurbished in 1999 by the owner at the time, an electrical engineer. Power comes from a 1,488cc inline-four backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox, and the car has been with the seller for 4 years and has been kept in a professional car collection environment since. Work performed during the refresh included a repaint in Vermillion Red, as well as adding new tan fabric upholstery. The top end of the engine was also refreshed and the correct SU carburetors were installed. The front end was rebuilt, as were the four-wheel drum brakes and related components. The car benefits from a recent major service, tune-up, and valve adjustment performed by marque specialist Mike Young. This Datsun Roadster is located in Monterey and is now being offered with maintenance and repair records with a clean California title in the seller’s name. A new soft top was added in 2014, and a new lock set with matching keys was added during the refurbishment. 13” Enkei alloy wheels are wrapped in Kumho Solus tires that were installed last year. Tan fabric seats, carpets, and door panels replace the original black vinyl interior. Note the unique to the 1963-64 SPL310 transverse rear seat. The trunk reportedly came fully upholstered from the factory, and the current material is not original. The 1,488cc inline-four is equipped with twin SU carburetors that have been remanufactured by ZTherapy. The top end of the engine was rebuilt by the previous owner, and a new factory Nissan clutch assembly has also been installed. The brakes and clutch were recently adjusted during a major tune-up by Mike Young, who also performed a valve adjustment.
