This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible is equipped with the Z11 option, which added the RS and SS packages as well as trim and decals in the style of the Camaro pace car used at the 1969 Indianapolis 500. The car was refurbished in 2018 and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Refinished in white over orange vinyl and houndstooth cloth upholstery, the car is equipped with a Positraction differential, a white convertible soft top, 14″ rally wheels, front disc brakes, power-assisted steering, orange stripes, retractable headlights, chrome bumpers, front and rear spoilers, and an AM radio. The Z11 package was introduced in early 1969 to outfit a limited run of production convertibles with trim replicating that of the official pace cars built for the 53rd Indianapolis 500. Fewer than 3,700 cars were sold with the option, all finished in Dover White with Z/28-style stripes in Hugger Orange. This example was refinished in 2018. Exterior equipment includes a replacement white convertible soft top, orange stripes, retractable headlights, a driver’s mirror, front and rear spoilers, and chrome bumpers. The 14″ Rally wheels are mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in orange vinyl and houndstooth cloth. Interior appointments include an AM radio, a center console, a Hurst shifter, and a cabin heater. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, a few of which were added under current ownership. Aftermarket gauges are fitted below the center stack.
