Description
very nice 1979 Corvette in Corvette Dark Blue with only 44,384 original miles on it. It also has a numbers matching L48, 5.7L, 195hp engine mated with a 4 speed manual transmission. The Oyster Leather interior is in very good condition.
The paint is original and also in very good condition showing no signs of cracking. The finish could use a nice detailing, but overall still looks great. The 350 cu. in V8 starts right up and runs out very well.
The transmission shifts smoothly with great clutch response. The Goodyear Eagle ST's are like new with just a few hundred miles on them. The undercarriage is in good driver quality condition showing it's normal wear over the years.
The mufflers and tailpipes appear to be new. Everything electrical works except the clock. The radio has been replaced with an aftermarket model, but the owner still has the original radio. The A/C had been serviced a couple of years ago, but at the time of picture taking, the compressor wasn't engaging.
The owner is looking into getting that serviced soon. Overall, this is a well maintained Corvette with relatively low miles. Classic Chevrolet Corvette Buyer's Guide
The Chevrolet Corvette has been America's sports car for over seventy years, but the classic Corvette market splits into three distinct generations, each with its own buyer profile and its own pitfalls. The C1 (1953-1962), C2 mid-year (1963-1967), and C3 shark (1968-1982) cover three decades of evolution from solid-axle straight-six convertibles to small-block legends to LT-1-powered chrome-bumper cars. Knowing which Corvette is yours — and what it actually is versus what the seller claims — is the difference between a sound investment and an expensive lesson.
