First Generation Pontiac GTO for sale.
The car that lit the muscle car fuse. John DeLorean got around GM's ban on big engines in mid-size cars by making the 389 a LeMans option for 1964, and the GTO became its own model line in 1966. Tri-Power 389 cars are the prize, and the 400 took over for 1967. These first cars set the formula every rival copied: big engine, light body, a price a young buyer could reach.
